List of BOHOGS Sponsors from 2023 2023 was the 12th and another successful year for the Bowen and Hunter Open Cut Geotechnical Society (BOHOGS). With previous sponsor’s support we built on the success and learnings from the COVID 19 years and enabled more networking and learning opportunities. INSPIRING FUTURE GENERATIONS OF GEOTECHNICAL GRADUATES Registrations are open! Are you a 3rd or 4th year geotechnical, civil engineering, or mining student? If yes, apply for our GroundProbe Geotechnical Scholarship today! What is the GroundProbe Geotechnical Scholarship? We offer a fully funded three-week training program for up to four undergraduate students at our largest Geotechnical Monitoring Centre in Balikpapan, Indonesia. Great turnout to the 1st BOHOGS event of 2023 - 33 in person and 24 online! Thanks to John, Stepthen and Jafnie for their respective presentations, the BOHOGS Sponsors for their continued support and the BOHOGS members who helped organise the event.

On March 10th 2023, BOHOGS, together with BBUGS, had the opportunity to attend the University of Queensland Engineering Undergraduate Society Careers Fair to encourage students to consider a career in Geotechnical Engineering. The event provided a great opportunity for members of BOHOGS/BBUGS to interact with the future engineers of the industry and to discuss what it is like to be a Geotechnical Engineering (Mining).
